I went a wandering today, Mr. Frost. On this first, almost warm, New Hampshire coming -of- spring day. My neck of the woods here- was yours- a couple of generations ago. But it's all mine, today. . . . more

Hi Julie
I too was in the heat of Firesmith...I believe that he does kust put out barbs and then sits back and smiles. He never reads what I write either!
I too so admire you and your writing but I was in the fervor. And I knew that I could disagree with you and still have a dear friend...
I do believe that she needs to stay...sick or not. I too have read that she is working to educate other prisoners, etc. So maybe there is the rehab. may she continue...in jail. Therein may be the true restitution for her crime.
It is so not worth another printed word here re Susan Atkins! I so respect you and I hope that you take my "fervor" as it was intended. A rational argument...we are in this together!

Hey, Pat!
Just re-read my comment and yours which were prompted by it on Mike's article... and since I left right after I left mine last night, thought I would comment back this way.
I guess it was a poor choice of words on my part, saying we are punishing her for being rehabilitated. What I meant was that if she were not rehabilitated, (working as a womens' advocate and doing good things in prison as I've read she has been doing for quite some time now) she would not even feel remorse. But I suspect she does feel it now, and for that reason, will probably also probably "feel" the punishment far more than she would have.
As I mentioned in my comment, I'm not going to lose any sleep over hoping she is released. I think the punishment is appropriate for her crimes. But I also feel that it would not "hurt" anything for her to be released and it would be the "humane" thing. Does she deserve humane treatment? She most certainly did not earn it with her crimes.
But I see both sides. I would not want to be punished for "crimes" I committed when I was twenty, now. I'm not the same person. I would not do the same things. And it is, in my opinion, somewhat pointless to keep a dying person who is not a threat, locked up.
All the same, I have great respect for you and for your opinion. I have not been reading Mike's articles or commenting on them for quite some time, and probably will not do so again... just that thing, you know... I doubt he has ever read a word of mine, and have issues with the idea that I think he posts what he knows will get him readers and comments, but does not reciprocate... at all. I think he is a good writer but there are better... like, for instance, you.

Hi Miriam
Some Like It Hot...hysterically funny. One of my all time faves for humor! Glad you feel that that "says it most." If I wanted to appear more worldly, perhaps I'd say Water...but Tony C. And Jack L. are more at my "core!"

thank you for joining my fan club Patricia and for your comment on the interview.
I'm pretty sure that John Beck would know how to make that accent over Mallarme's name!

Patricia. Thank you, so much, for your comment. You made me think once again~~about family, and what it means to me.
I am so glad you got in the middle of a big, messy, fun, active family moment. It is exactly how I grew up, and, very simply, why I love life.
I'm writing down your name so I don't lose you.
I want to read everything you've written.
(I can say that about very few people......)
Blessings,
Wilka
